FreeAgent Desktop (Windows) to MAC compatibility

Hello,

I have a FreeAgent Desktop unit which was installed on a Windows system and was used as storage for all my pictures.

I have now transferred to a MAC. Unit is working fine and I can retrieve all my old images but cannot seem to save any images on the unit with the MAC system.

Is there a compatibility issue? Am I missing something here?

Thanks for your help. :smileyhappy:

Check the common issues. You need to format the drive as FAT32 to share the drive. You will need to save the files off the drive before formatting. I would recommend burning DVD's for a second form of backup.

Or keep the drive as NTFS and use a free (MacFuse and NTFS-3G) or commercial (Paragon) utility that allows your Mac to write to NTFS drives.
