FreeAgent Pro - Using two devices as backup

Greetings,

Could we use two FreeAgent Pros as a means of offsite backup?

That is have a full week of data changes, file monitoring and use, and then at the end of the weekend replace it with another unit (same in size and function) in which it will backup the same data.

The unit that was in place will go offsite come back a week later to get updated with the file changes that happened the week it was away.

Any other thoughts to get the Freeagent to do a form of offsite storage?

That should work.  So long as the backup folders on the externals are the same name.  The program should just check the PCs HD and see if the external has the same data.  If not, it will copy it.  Also, so long as they both show up as the same drive letter too.

Re: FreeAgent Go - Using two devices as backup

I want to do exactly this with FreeAgent Go.

My question:

When syncing 1 computer with 2 identical FreeAgent Go (rotated weekly for offsite backups), when I connect the 2nd drive (which now has week-old data), will computer data be overwritten with old data?

Or will 2nd drive just be synced with new data from computer?  (desired behavior)

Have read http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=210511&NewLang=en, but still unclear about the results.
