Seagate Manager not detecting my FreeAgent drive (though the drive shows up and is accessible under 'Computer') . Was working in Windows 7 64-bit before I moved over to Windows 8 last evening.
Any idea when or if Seagate plans to support Windows 8? Not seeing any mention anywhere on the Support site stating what Seagate plans to do.

Well Seagate Mod STX_Monk posted software download links on the Goflex Home forum. http://forums.seagate.com/t5/GoFlex-Net-GoFlex-Hom
Funny that there isn't a more official response from Seagate, but anyway, I installed it out of curiousity and it works with my Seagate Goflex Ultraportable AND my Goflex Home on Win8 Pro.

Thanks Kenji. That software listing makes it clear that I can't expect anything from SeaGate...so I guess I'll move onto Windows 8's File History app.
Kind of depressing...I really liked Seagate Manager, and it's not like my FreeAgent drive is super old. A couple years at most...and still working great.
Shame on you Seagate.

Yeah I was never a big fan of Memeo but with the download it seems to work in win8.
File History is OK but it only backs up your libraries. The only way to add folders to the backup plan is to add them to a library (afaik). I think I'll continue to use Cobian Backup

Thanks for the tip on Cobian Backup...giving that a shot.
I found that you can still use Windows 7 Recovery in Windows 8 (instead of Windows 8 File History), but Cobian Backup looks like a better option if you want something like Seagate Manager.
