I have a new issue that's arisen with my Seagate Freeagent Classic 500GB. In the past couple of days I've noticed the drive skips/ momentarily powers down during operation.
Like playing a song in iTunes or watching a movie, it pauses for a slight second, the external grinds for a second, and continues playing whatever I'm watching or listening to. However, this is extremely annoying. I have the Freeagent software installed for this and it doesn't seem to be helping at all anymore. The Energy saving features are set to 'Off' to control powering down of drives.
I can't figure it out.
Anyone know ?
