Go drive, write on PC, read on MAC?

Hi, I'd like to send my drive with files to a friend who has a MAC and I have a PC.  How can I format the drive to work with both platforms.  I thought I saw an article around here but I can't find it.

 

I have the 500GB freeagent go and I have about 400GB to transfer.
