GoFlex Desk Adapter Use on Mac

I have a GoFlex Desk Adapter (PN: 9ZH9P7-RAA), and I have previously used it on a PC.  I have a MacBook Pro, and I need to write to the drive (copy files, rename files, backup files, etc.), but I just connected it to my Mac for the first time, and I have read-only permissions.  How can I change this so that I have full access to write to the external hard drive?  Do I need to download software?  When I connected the GoFlex to my Mac, I was not given any options (i.e. not given the option to initialize the drive for a Mac, to download software, or anything).  Thank you!

Re: GoFlex Desk Adapter Use on Mac

Paragon driver to the rescue!

Run the mac installer.dmg file that comes on the drive and select mac and pc use.

Then go through the installer, reboot when prompted. When you come back up, activate the driver and restart once more (you won't be prompted for the second reboot). Once it comes back up, you should have read/write capability on the drive.

Lemme know if you need any additional assistance.

To all users: If your data is stored ONLY on an external hard drive, then it is NOT a backup. A BACKUP is having the data stored in TWO or MORE locations. If it is only in ONE location, you don't have a backup at all. If the data is important to you, then have it stored in multiple locations to prevent data loss.
