I bought a FreeAgent Go to move my data from a few places to a new place, Like a fool I did not copy data to it I moved it. In any case the first computer it was attached to is a Quad Machine using vista 64, Worked Great, The second machine was my notebook a Dual using vista 32, worked great! Third computer was a XP Pro machine worked great. All my data now on FreeAgent. Connect to destination machine XP Pro and it did not recognize drive. I then tried connecting to all the other computers above and none recognized the drive.
The Seagate manager show no drives connected.
Looked all over found hundred of similar stories but no solutions outside of checking cables and stuff, which of course did!
I am now running a recovery program, hours at 1%
Device managers & program sees drive, both say unallocated
Sorry, my question is, has anyone recovered their data? If so how? I promise to post the solution all over the net! My problem is no more than the hundreds of horror stories I have been reading but I would like to get 15 years worth media I worked thousands of hours on back.
Thanks to anyone with a suggestion, and promise to work hard on getting it to anyone needing it! Thanks again.

I suffer from the same problem; Seagate Free agent PRO 750 GB, that powers up, but isn't recognized by any computer ( I have 7). I have read an article about a device that can be plugged into the USB 3.0 port on my lap-top......it has a small box/adapter, and then a cable with a male eSATA plug...that plugs into the HDD. It is supposed to allow the files to be accessed / by-pass the internal disc drive mechanism......has anyone tried this type of device?

Hi Mark: I spent 3 hrs. on this forum yesterday........so I tried you tube. There is the apparent solution to these frozen segates.
Its a USB 3.0 to eSATA adapter that allows the contents of the discs to be pulled into the PC/laptop conected to the Seagate...
Has anyone else tried this gizmo?
