I have never had a hard drive until now. I only bought it to back up documents and photos. I'm getting a message that says basically, "no more space available." Can anyone give me simple instructions as to how I could free up some space on that hard drive. I'm sure I've got tons of things I could delete. Thank you so much for any help you can provide! I'm totally new to this.

We have a great knowledge base article available that provides information about freeing up space:

BE ABSOLUTELY SURE BEFORE DELETING ANYTHING ON YOUR "FreeAgent Desk Hard Drive"!!!!!!!!!!!!
Follow these steps:
1) Right click on your FreeAgent Desk Hard Drive > Properties. On the General tab, you will see "Used space: xxx GB" (in blue); "Free space: yyy GB" (in pink). This gives you a rough idea about your drive.
2) Open (explore) your FreeAgent Desk Hard Drive.
3) Select a folder/file you want to delete. Again, BE ABSOLUTELY SURE BEFORE DELETING!!!
4) Right click on the selected folder/file > Delete.
This action will move the selected folder/file to the Recycle Bin and free up some space on your FreeAgent Desk Hard Drive. This will also help you recover your deleted folder/file should you find out later oop! the deletion was an accident! When you're satisfied with your deletion, you can empty the Recycle Bin to to get rid of all deleted folders/files and free up space on your internal HDD.
Hope this helps.
