I am new to this; I just bought a FreeAgent Go for Mac and hooked it up the other day. I realized today that the package was missing the USB 2.0 Power Cord so I hooked it to my MacBook (10.4 OS) with the FireWire 400. It did not give me the automatic option to register the drive and the set up for the Manager app, as it did for my mom's FreeAgent desktop version. Looking around online, it says the GO comes with this software. What could I be doing wrong or does this sound like a defective drive? I can drag and drop the HD into the GO and it stays there, but I want the Manager to set up a backup schedule etc...basically, I'd like my money's worth.
Let me know what I may need to try. I can't call Seagate support as they are closed.

Actually, this drive is intentionally sold with no Manager app. It is intended for use with Mac Time Machine, which, believe me, is a better application than any Manager application that Seagate has ever included with its products.

My MacBook has Tiger, not Leopard OS, so I don't have TimeMachine. Is the best I can hope for with the GO the Drag n Drop of data?
THANKS!
