Hello,
I live in India. I have a Seagate freeagent go 500GB hard drive purchased through Amazon.com(USA) in 2009 with still another 2 and a half years of warranty intact.(Nov-2014). Till last week it worked fine without any problem.
But since last week it was not getting detected in the PC and I took it to my local seagate authorised services Accel Frontline Services Limited, Mysore , India.
They checked my HDD and said since recovery was not possible, I should claim a wa ranty. But half a day after I put in my claim, they said that warranty was not available since it was not purchased in India. What do I do now?
My old drive is not working and I cannot get a replacement from warranty claim just because I made the mistake of purchasing it from AMAZON.COM(USA). I am extremely dissappointed with this service. They would accept my HD only if Seagate gives me or mails them india_cso@accelfrontline.in the official approval letter for accepting my external hard-drive in INDIA for replacement. Please help me. I have attached my amazon order invoice here. I can provide the serial number of the HD if needed.
