I have been using a Seagate FreeAgent Desktop 500 GB for about 2 years now without problems.
Last week I had to replace my modem/router and bought a Belkin Wireless Modem/Router/Storage N+ which has a USB port for an external hard drive.
I installed the Belkin without problem, got all the wireless up and running fine. When I plugged the Seagate in it sorted itself out fine and allocated the Seagate "Z" as it's drive. It used to be "H".
Everything worked fine that first time, I backed up a few things, but the next time I turned the computer on, I couldn't access the Seagate via the Modem so I can't back up.
I've tested the Router IP address and it works fine up until I select the Seagate then I get the message: "IP Address exisits but cannot find the freeagent drive".
I tested the Belkin USB port with a flash drive and it works fine.
I tested the Seagate by plugging it into a spare port in the PC and it works fine too. The software is up to date too.
I thought that if i disconnected the Seagate, uninstalled the software then plugged the Seagate into the router and re-installed the software I might get somewhere but I cannot find the Seagate software in the "Uninstall programs" list depsite the fact I can see it in the "All Programs" list.
I tried talking to Belkin via live chat and after two tries and about 3 hours I concluded, they have no clue!!! They are blaming the Seagate.
I am open to any suggestions you might have.... I am simply so confused and frustrated... I am no computer genius that's for sure!
Hope someone can help me.

Had the same problem...got lucky figuring it out...
Access your Belkin Router - probably 192.168.2.1
Go down the the bottom to "Firmware update"
Download the file...browse to it on the Belkin screen...update firmware.
After I did that the Seagate 1TB drive showed up under Computer in Windows Explorer.
