Quick Question

Hello all...

I have a Seagate Free Agent 500GB external hard drive which I use as a backup drive for another 500GB hard drive full of music/pics/video files.  I have been using Seagate Manager through a laptop but after a lot of trying I can't seem to figure out how to just overwrite the previous backup copy to reflect the addition of a couple albums for example.  In other words, the backup function saves previous backups which takes up more room on the hard drive, correct?  There doesn't seem to be a way to sync the 2 drives to just reflect the current content of the drive I'm copying.  Hope that makes sense.  Thanks for any help!

Re: Quick Question

Thanks for the reply.  I know Seagate Manager can sync; however when I have the 2 external drives hooked up to the laptop on which I run Manager, sync is not an option (i.e. when I select the Seagate drive as my backup drive).  Am I missing something?

Here is some more info along these lines:

Other forum users, such as MrButkus, have talked about third-party backup/sync softwares with which they have had good success.  Those might be good options for you.
