Seagate 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive ST310005EXA101-RK Security Settings

Having issues with Security Settings.

All started when i was trying to apply a login to my exteral to keep my school network from being able to see my files.

Something got screwed and now, the drive is read only to all but 2 of my computers.

I have gone through every single folder, changed the permissions to "Everyone can do everything" but i'm still getting the same error.

I would reformat the drive, but i need to save all of the files that i have on there, and i'm not sure but i believe that backing up the files to one of my desktops would retain the security settings held within the folders themselves.

Please help, this is a huge hinderence.
