Seagate 250GB External Hard Drive - AC Power Adapter?

[ Edited ]

Hi everyone, thanks for reading my post, I hope someone can help :smileyhappy:

I was given an external hard drive a few months ago and haven't yet plugged it in. I now want to, and find that the power adapter isn't in the box! I've found a lot of information stating that it should contain an "AC power adapter" but nothing more specific and I know that there are different ones - I don't want to get one that's too strong and damage my hard drive.

I am not bothered about the fact that my box didn't contain one, I'm not sure where it's from and I'm perfectly happy to buy a new one, I just can't seem to find the information I need anywhere! I really hope someone can suggest something, I have so many important files and would hate to lose them just because I don't have a stupid adapter!

Thanks a lot,

LJ :smileyhappy:

You can call the support center.. see how much they will charge you for one... plus shipping.

I don't think Seagate sells the power supplies separately and doesn't sell "spares".  I have one left over from my old 500GB FreeAgent.  Send me a PM if you'd like it.

They do sell them separately... most of the time.

But do go ahead and get with noegruts first.  It will probably be quicker.
