The front light strip is flashing. It is not recognized by neither my PCs nor my PS3. It's making no noise and is no recognized by the Drive Manager.
It did this a couple weeks ago. I left it unplugged overnight and then it worked again. This time, no such luck.

Basic detection troubleshooting is your best bet here:
Try different cables.
Try a different usb port.
Try another computer.
Check to see if the drive powers up and shows in device manager or disk management. If not, likely a dead drive...

It does not work on any other computers. I even tried my PS3 with no luck. Does not show in drive manager or device manager.
How should I go about trying replacement cables? EBay?

I guess you could try ebay or take it to a local computer store to see if they can test it with any of their cables...up to you on that one.

Thanks for the help.
Is there anything I can do in the future to prevent this or do these drives just have a short life? It seems like this is a common problem with these.

Swapped both cables with no luck. I e-mailed tech support, answered a bunch of questions and their conclusion is that my drive has failed. Good news though, my warranty expired three months ago. Oh wait, that news sucks. Anything left I can try?

Crack open the case and take the drive out and connect it internally or in another enclosure, perhaps.
