Hi, I have a similar problem with a Freeagent Desk 500 GB where the filesystem turned into RAW.
Since I would like to try everything I can to recover the data on the drive, will chkdsk (which is suggested in the Seagate knowledge base) be able to recover and restore the drive, or will it corrupt the data on the drive instead?
I have tested the drive on 3 different computers all running Xp 32. And also tried another USB cable. I downloaded the Seagate software that came with the drive, did the test and it reported it was healthy.
I really hope someone can help with this, as I use it as a backup drive. Thanks.
