Hello, I got this Seagate Feeagent 1TB, external HDD, and things have seriously gone bad in here.
The drive is too slow to respond to have tried copying data from HDD to my computer, but it does not work.
Firstly, whenever I connect my HDD, it shows after about 5 minutes.
Now, even after displaying in "My Computer" after 5 minutes, i cannot copy data from it.
initially, it will show me it will takes ages to copy the stuff and after 15 - 0 minutes, it says
"Action cannot be performed. I/O Error."
i am all bugged up, as what is the error like and how do I even copy data from it.
Here are some details about the product.
Model: FreeAgent, Serial: [Edited: Removed personal information per the community rules and regulations.], Firmware: 102D
Please help...

Sorry to hear about your drive not being accessible!
If you are receiving an I/O device error, it indicates that your system is having a problem reading the critical partition information on the drive. If this drive was intentionally or unintentionally removed improperly from the computer it may cause this error.
If you have additional copies of the same information somewhere else and the data on the external drive is not important, we would recommend reformatting the external drive or repartitioning the external drive. This will erase all data on the external drive. However, once that is done you should be able to copy over the data back to the external drive. Please make sure the drive is safely removed from computer using safely remove icon before removing the drive from your computer.
If the data on the external drive is important, do not format the drive. Instead you may need data recovery software to help recover the data. Here is a link to our DIY data recovery software if needed:
