Seagate Manager does not detect my FreeAgent XTreme if connected through eSATA

[ Edited ]

I got problem with my Seagate FreeAgent XTreme External HardDrive (1Tb)

USB 2.0 and Seagate manager works, eSATA and Seagate manager don't detect HardDrive
If I understood correctly, than:
I can't use Seagate Manager if I'll connect my HardDrive through eSATA interface.
USB 2.0 interface for Seagate Manager only?

If it's not detecting it it's not connected properly, or not online within Windows, eSata shouldn't be a problem, but you must be in AHCi mode in your bios to use eSata iirc.

Same error here... still.  However, Windows 7, in fact, does recognize the drive.  Only Seagate's software does not recognize it..  The purpose of buying this was for the speed of eSata, yet only the slower USB functionality is working.

Try a reload of the software with it connected, if that fails do it the other way around, and if you've been using it with XP,Vista or a Mac as well do a fresh format and let Windows find it again.hth.
