Hi;
I have a Mac Mini using Bootcamp to run OS X and Windows XP Pro. I just added a 1TB Seagate Free Agent for Mac (via Firewire)(Serial number 2GEA1NTP) to use for storage and used the Mac Disk Utility to spilt it into two 500+/- drives, one for Mac and one for Windows. It works well, but I have a few wrinkles I'd like to figure out before I load it with archive files.
The drive wants to sleep in Windows, and the Drive Manager won't let me adjust the power settings - given the choice, I'd have it sleep and reawaken on the same schedule as the internal hard drive.
When I run the Drive Test in Drive Manager (Windows again) the program tells me the drive requires service and should be returned - yet I don't find anything that might be wrong with the drive, except for the fact that I split it, and I can't control the power settings. I want to know more about what the Drive Manager thinks is wrong with the drive.
Where do I go next?
Thanks
