Re: Turning off Autoplay on my FreeAgent Drive

There is a file named Autorun.inf in the root directory of the drive.  Edit the name of the file to Autorun.inf.xxx or Autorun.xxx or something the OS will not recognize as an Autorun file.  I would not delete the file but even if you did delete the Autorun.inf, you could still start the installer by double-clicking on the InstallSeagateManager.ini file or the InstallSeagateManager.exe file.

The Autorun.inf just makes autorun happen and, I agree, it's a pain.

Re: Turning off Autoplay on my FreeAgent Drive

Right click on the dirive letter in windows explorer.  The select PROPERTIES.  From there select the AUTOPLAY tab. Choose the "Select an action to perform" radio button. Then, scroll down to "Take no action".  Select this and hit APPLY.

Do this while logged on as an administrator.
