I plugged the adapter into the USB without the hard drive than I plugged the hard drive into the adapter than I than I separated the hard drive and adapter just a little bit and it started working

I purchased seagate goflex 500 GB 2 month ago and transfered my important data and media files which were on my previous external hard disk 250 GB. after 10 days of purchase the problem started and the hard disk initially not open and hanged the computer then icon too disappeared and seems to be as if it is not connected to USB port. I tried all the alternates changing cord, USB port tried it on another computer, tried to recover data. But failed. Now I am getting support from an IT expert to recover my data who tried and recovered some folders of songs only after wasting 5 to 6 hrs thrice in a week period. It is strange that product seems to be manufacturing problem.In my opinion either company should take the responsibility of recovery of data alongwith the replacement which is available under the buying condition. One more point is that there is comeo backup software trail verson for 30 days that pop up promptly to buy it's product whether seagate external drive not opening recognised or fuction, that is strange? Seagate high ups please look into the matter and provide solution to the customer. It is frustracting for buying a class item and suffers.

I absolutely agreed to u. The seagate should realise the manufacturing defect and call back all the drives with the assurance of recovery of date also. Seagate showing only charges for the recovery of date on it's web They should come up with providing suitable recovery software alongwith intruction steps how to use the utility and troubleshooting steps and instructions therein.
