Warranty Length Of a FreeAgent Pro and death of same

Hey Guys,

Guess what my FreeAgent Pro 1TB Drive died after 2 years...No Drive Spin at all and before it died the Esata interface without exception would corrupt data whenever used. I also had slow throughput in all interfaces except the USB. Now when connected to an interface all that would happen was the pretty activity light. NO SPIN!!! I suspect the circuit board crapped out!

Now here's a funny I worked for Seagate Motor Division R&D in the past and all everyone ever worried about was Time to Market. Engineers had to put Time to Market before quality and had to make sacrifices in design. Not surprised of the negative comments I have read but not to worry every other manufacturer has the same problems!

Seagate "used to have" the best drives on the market. But sense Shugart is no longer, Seagate his baby has alzheimers disease in these last years. The old cry of quantity not quality is the bi- word in today's so called global market!

Oh yeah my reason for this insightful message; how long is the warranty on this wonderful product?

Take care my fellow U.S. citizens AND everyone else in the E. ewww!

Try the warranty checker:

If you value your data more than your warranty, try connecting your drive directly to your computer's motherboard.
