Hello,
Excuse me for my poor english, i'm french.
I take care of the computer for one person.
I reinstalled completly his Windows XP (the person have made a backup of his data on a hard drive Seagate FreeAgent Desktop 500GB, a lot of pictures).
Problem, some files of this external hard drive are "encrypt" in view of the file name without extension. Folder and all subfolders are there and the weight of the pictures appear to be correct. One big problem, impossible to open of course.... even forcing by adding the extension. jpg to the end.
I saw this SEAGATE external hard drive offers among other encryption software, but even reinstalling this software nothing to do. Also it's sure that person not wanting to encrypt their data, just to make a backup copy.
Now what? This could be a virus?
and this is a capture of a problematic issue :
Thank you very much.
