Won't recognize my Free Agent Go anymore

My SeaGate ‘Free Agent Go’ used to open up, asking if I wanted to open it as a folder (or otherwise) as soon as I plugged it in. Now, it opens with the ‘new found hardware’ wizard that asks what program I want to use to open it, or insert software that came with it. (of course, there is none, and it is not able to find software from the internet) The white lights on the drive are flashing at this time. It does not show up as a device on the ‘My Computer’ screen.

So, what can I do to open and retrieve the information I have stored on it? Thanks.     PN:9KW2AL - 500 1 Terra Byte

Can you hear the drive spin up?

Can you see it in Disk Management? Device Manager?

Can you see the USB enclosure with Microsoft's UVCView utility?

Re: Won't recognize my Free Agent Go anymore

Same problem happened to me! I bought it one week ago and then took it to a computer retailer...they told me my harddrive is screwed. Now I can't get any of my data unless I pay 800-2200 to get the data recovered! NOT HAPPY! Called Seagate and they won't do a thing...said sorry we our warranty only covers the USB cable. Absolute crud...will never ever purchase one again!
