I have a 160 gb freeagent pn9za2a2-500 external hardrive(sn 2ge1jncz) . I an using a compaque nc6220 laptop.
I have a fair amount of experience with installing duo operating systems on desktop computers..e.g. xp on one drive and windows 2000 on another..using fdisk ,and a boot disk from a floppy drive.
I don t have a floppy drive on the Compaq.I have a Spanish xp os on my internal drive, but don t have that installation disk.
I want to install English xp on my external drive. I have cdroms for 98se, windows 2000, and xp. I have tried reinstalling the xp over the Spanish xp, but it won t go for a variety of reasons(blue screen, the English version is an earlier version than the Spanish etc) I realize I cold trie to convert the Spanish to English, but that only takes me so far.I had an expert in Nicaragua look at it and he says there is damage to the internal hardrive, and this preventing him from installing the English over the Spanish)He suggested settng up a dual os
What I really want is an English xp on the freeagent disk , so I can choose on bootup which disk to use. (The Spanish disk is really good for my learning spanish)
