1st problem
something happened to a folder in my drive after copying some large files from a friend's computer. whenever i try to open that folder, a pop-up message appears saying that the folder is not accessible and that
"The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."
when i try to delete that folder, another message appears saying
"An unexpected error is trying to prevent the operation. Make a note of this error code, which might be useful if you get additional help to resolve this problem: Error 0x80070091: The directory is not empty."
how do i resolve this?
2nd problem
whenever i safely remove my drive (not unplugging it yet), the lights don't turn off. even after 5 minutes. the lights used to turn off after about 30 seconds.
what's up with that?
--------------------------------------------------
note:
my drive's model number is ST905003FAM2E1-RK (made in china)
my os is vista. my friend's is xp. (maybe connecting my drive to different machines with different os' messed it up?)
i don't have a dock so i don't know if my drive is getting enough power. i don't think they sell docks here in the philippines.
hope you guys can help me. thanks!

Two Items:
One.. remove the "write behind" delay on that drive. Instructions are in the FAQ
Two.. that causes the "corrupt" folders. The fix.
Find the drive letter of your external F: G: whatever it's called on your PC
Go to Start, Run, then type cmd
type cd\windows you should see the windows command prompt
In that box type chkdsk_F:_/f_/r (replace F: with your drive letter, don't type the underlines. Those are to show the spaces needed)
Let that run, it will take a few hours. You can use your PC while it's doing that.
That will fix the corrupt folders. Changing the "write delay" will stop that from happening.
