Hi

I've had my goflex tv for about two weeks, and there hasn't been any trouble finding my computer in the workgroup folder under network. That is until now.

When i turn on my goflex tv and go to network to browse content on my computer, the workgroup folder does not appear, and i can therefor not find my computer. The only folder available is the shortcuts one.

I can not add my computer as a shortcut because my router uses dynamic IP adress, and I'm in no control over the router in the house. (I've tried this option, but I do not want to manually add my computer as a shortcut every time.)

My computer runs on windows 7, 64 bit version.

I have not changed any of the settings on my computer, so I have no idea why it stopped working.

Everything og sharing options is turned ON.

And internet connection is working. Youtube works perfectly

You can try seting a static IP even if the router uses Dynamic IP address assignment, just pick an address that is not likely to be in use to avoid conflicts, for example 192.168.0.99

See attached screenshot.

In Network and sharing centre click on the active network > click properties > click internet protocol version 4 >properties and set up as shown in the screenshot (assuming your network router is at 192.168.0.1)

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it but it didn't work,

Between the modem and the wireless router there is a switch.

When I plugged both my computer and the Goflex tv with wire in the sitch it worked perfectly.

What I do not understand is why it won't work when my Golfex is connected with wire to the router and the computer is connected with wireless to the router. (It does not work with wire from router to computer either.

well you could set up a dlna media server like Serviio on your PC. Then you don't need to use IP addresses or workgroups.

For future troubleshooting ideas.

Those who have this problem should try to reboot the router and the FAT+/GoFlexTV. If the setup has been working, and suddendly Workgroup disappears now, rebooting the network usually solves it.

I tried reeboting my goflex tv, but it still remembered all my settings except for language.

I just held the reset button in for around five seconds. Perheps I did it wrong?

I also removed the password on the router, and turned password back on.
