Re: Compatible Wireless Adapters

I can't really vouch for that adapter but I have a few thoughts. I assume you used cold method to revert to 2.20.  Disconnect all other devices and plug in the wireless usb to the rear jack only.  Don't use a hidden network until the GoFlex connects to the network once.

My 2 cents.  :smileyhappy:

Re: Compatible Wireless Adapters

Hello All - Just trying to give back to the community in some way.

Based on the early findings, I purchased and was able to successfully use these two adapters in my FAT+ from NewEgg:
$19.99 WL ADAPTER TRENDNET|TEW-649UB
$15.99 WL ADAPTER PATRIOT|PCBOWAU2-N

I liked the FAT+ so much, I bought a second one to use in another room off eBay and found out these adapters don't work with it... even with 2.23 code.

Upon further review, I noted that the original I purchased was a Model +522 and the older eBay model is +520. Thus, I must conclude that some adapters work with different models...

Based on the reviews I've seen on other adapters, I'm thinking to buy these two in hopes that they work in the older +520.

TP-LINK TL-WN723N

Rosewill RNX-N180UBE

If anyone has any specific findings on the +520, I'd appreciate any insight! Otherwise, I'll try to let everyone know in a week or so.

Tony

Re: Compatible Wireless Adapters

[ Edited ]

Hi Tony, Wow, thanks for the info - I didn't even notice the difference in part numbers - I have 520s and a 521.  Hmm.  Sorry I can't help more on the wireless issues - I am all wired, but kudos to you for bringing this information forward!

Just to double check, did you do a cold method install of the 2.23 firmware?  I just want to make sure you covered your bases before thinking they may not work.  I know wireless adapters have been finicky with firmware updates.  Or try out 2.20.  See the Firmware 101 section in the sticky thread of my signature below for more information on this.  I don't want to see you be a guinea pig here but if you are willing to help that would be great.

Re: Compatible Wireless Adapters

Is it worked for You?

TP-Link TL-WN723N 150 Mbps Mini Wireless N USB Adapter  is not working for me ,  my  FAT+  is at version  2.23.

I know there is no issue with the adapter because it works well with my desktop

but when I insert  into front USB port of FAT+ , it;s not detecting , adapter light wont blink.

Re: Compatible Wireless Adapters

That adapter didn't work for me, I'm getting "Wireless router not found" error when I try to set up wireless connection. Also the adapter's built-in green LED doesn't blink, so I suspect that the adapter is not recognized by my FAT+ (running 2.20 firmware). Any idea why? It worked flawlessly on my laptop...
