How Can a User Re-Format PVR Extender

I purchased the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex DVR - PVR Extender 1TB hard drive that was originally formatted by my Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD PVR in April that stops recording TV programs.

 

The PVR Extender has Part Number: 9XD8N7-500 1TB.

 

Does anyone know how one can Re-Format the drive?
