G'Day!
Don't have a Freeagent Theater Plus so I couldn't test the flashing myself.
So if you flash this, I have one word: Respect!
You should always flash this firmly using the cold method. This usually
involves unplugging the power to the device, holding a button (please check which),
plugging the power, plugging in a USB device and waiting for the device to finish
upgrading. If you do a bad flash, repeat with a good firmware and your device is
as good as new. The risk of permanently bricking your device is minimal.
So go ahead, flash it and if it works, you may discover a lot of exciting
potentials in your little FATTY+.
Have fun. playdude.

- Optware installed. No need to bootstrap. Just /opt/bin/ipkg install your favourite packages.
- Samba running by default. Can copy files from Windows to USB drive attached to it now.
- transmission torrent client running by default. Just use your web browser to connect to it at port 9091 and away you go!
- Check out the FAT+ web interface with your web browser. Ugly but useful. Allows you some control over your FAT+.

Hi paolig. So this firmware works on your device? That's great news. This works like the official firmware (if it works at all), plus the ability to allow users to log into it and see what's under the surface. Not too exciting for people who just want to watch videos perhaps, but for those who love to tinker with things it could be useful.
With this firmware running, you could install Oleg Optware (goolge it if you don't know) on it. Some things you could do with Oleg Optware are using a torrent client like Transmisison (google again) to download media directly to the hard drive connected to your device to play, and setting up Samba on the device so you could drop and drag files from your Windows computer to your FAT+ (or does the official firmware support this already?)
As I've said, I don't have a FAT+ so I can't use any pictures to illustrate how it works. All I can do is go Stevie Wonder and rely on others to test it.
PS: Since you said it worked, could you connect your FAT+ to your network and verify that telnet and ssh login work? If you're using Windows, you can download Putty to do it Here's the Putty link:
