Music Album Art

Should I rip my CD's into individual Album folders or by Artist in order to be able to sort by artist or album?  Will album art show up with ripped CD's or do I need to manually put art in each folder?  Lots of info on board regarding video art which works great but having trouble with music.

Also when I deleted my music off of my portable hard drive it still showed it and was able to play.  Had to reformat to get rid off deleted files.  Anybody else finding this to be true?

Thanks

Not knowing what you have it's hard to say what the best way is.  But if you have Windows 7, or have Windows Media Player 12 then you can use it to get your rip your CD's and get your album art and the art will show up on the FAT+.

When you delete files from your external hard drive you still have to empty the Recycle Bin.  HERE is a little something on that. There is a way to disassociate the Recycle Bin with the hard drive so that when you delete something it is permanently deleted, but I can't remember the procedure off hand.  But if you want to know how to, let me know and I'll tell you how.

Thanks for the help, I am running Windows XP With Media player 11.  I am in the process of reripping just to make sure I used this program to originally get the music files.  Thanks for the tip on the recycle bin.

No need to modify anything if you don't want to. You can permanently delete files/folders by either holding the SHIFT key down and pressing the DELETE key while the file/folder is highlighted or you can RIGHT click on the file/folder, hold down the SHIFT key and select DELETE from the popup menu.

Re: Music Album Art

Hi everyone.  Well, the art for music files must show up because the artwork is embedded in the MP3 files or whatever, right?  If there's no embedded art then there is no cover art that is visible through the Music folder navigation (not through the Devices menu).

I have had no success making album art appear for music folders.
