When I stream video (1080p and 720p) over a wired network the video quality is poor. The video is pixelated and kinda bleeds into each other.
When I switch to wireless, the video quality is excellent! It stutters playing 1080p content but the video quality is perfect.
Anyone know why there is a difference in video quality between wired and wireless? And why would wired be worse? Is my FreeAgent Theater+ deffective?

I'm using US version FW1.55 FAT+ over wired 100mb network (smb shares on win7 pro 32bit box) and everything is perfect. I haven't notice any pixelated videos. Maybe there is a problem with your wired network and you are connecting at 10mb or something... but it is not stuttering, you say it is pixelated... How about playing youtube/rss video feeds? Is there a difference between wired and wi-fi connections?

I think it might be cable problem. I would try a different Cat 5e ot Cat 6 ethernet shielded cable.

Yes! The cable was the problem. Thanks for your help!

i had the same problem
1080p videos when played via wired router came out all pixelated but if played via usb card reader it rendered perfect
so i tested 2 more LAN cables i had in my room:
the first it pixelated even worst, the second the pixels were almost gone. So it is a LAN cable problem. Tomorrow i will go to the shop and buy a higher quality cable (hope to find cat.6). Thanks for the advice!
