FreeAgent Theater and GoFlexTV

I update my FreeAgent Theater+ (USB). After inscription"Updating complete" there was a Seagate logo. As stated in the instructions it must move but it stood. I waited about 10 minutes and turn off the power. Now when I turn on the player I see only that logo. Buttons dont work.

Old FW version: 01.16.262072E

As asked in the other thread, HOW did you upgrade? using the online automatic update, USB method, or COLD upgrade? It's important to know because:

- Never use online automatic update, it often causes problem. Go to menu settings and change this value to manual update. If you did use this method, then reflash again using the COLD method.

- In any case, always use COLD method, it's the safest way to upgrade.

- Sometime, using USB method will work for upgrading or downgrading between FW versions (but not always).

I see you are using EMEA version.  Since you are installing a new firmware from a very old firmware, it may help to install EMEA 1.45 first, then 2.23 - using the cold method.

I said that I used USB method. And how I can install another update if player doesn't  work??

If you read the Firmware 101 section of the post given to you by Bodhi, you will see the USB METHOD is not the same as the COLD METHOD.

Here are the instructions for the COLD method.

I already tried COLD method - did not work. Player does not respond to a flash drive, there is a Seagate logo and all.

I recommend first flashing to the 1.45 firmware first, then to 2.20, then to 2.23 (EMEA).

Other things to consider - do not have any other devices plugged in to the FAT+ when you are trying to update.  Also, use the usb port in the rear, not the front, when updating.

Also I want to tune Internet connection. Are there any advices that I wouldn't make a mistake again?

I have exactly the same problem. I'd like to try to downgrade as well, my only problem is: Where can i find old FW versions? Was searching for like 30 mins now on this page but can't find it.
