ok so downgraded firmware to 2.20 no problem
now how do i do the next part?front and rear usb stil not working

been trying to connect via cmd and putty
nothing
load itup i can ping the ip but wont connect
my fat+ is connected to my router,as is my pc,so i dont know why it wont connect,tried firefox browser tconnect too wen i i try firefox i get this in my browser

one more thing,ive been looking around and im seeing MOD firmwares,,i take these are custom firmwares? is ther any change in fucntionality if i change to this mod firmware? menus changes anything like that as we all know thenormal menu is very basic and boiring?

If you can ping the box then it's great. Try telnet to the box (Windows putty has telnet, too) The user name is root, no password necessary. After that type the command
mount
This will list all the disks/volumes that were detected by the FAT+.
then attach your USB drive to the front port, check the mounting again with "mount" command to see if the output changed, and if there is any thing like (sdxx is the drive letter):
/tmp/usbmounts/sda1
Then you'll know the USB drive was recognized by the FAT+ .
Paste the output from both here, if you're not sure.

Your router may have given the FAT+ a new IP address. Verify this with your router - I can't remember if the FAT+ menu will tell you its current IP or not.

Yes, the FAT+ shows the current IP on the menu. Good point, prairiedog! I'm sure after the Cold flash, the FAT+ will set the IP to dynamic IP, too.
