You can buy this adapter for the mini USB port and try that port. No need to justify expense :-)

That was wrong info. The mini USB works the same way. The only restriction is the shape, i.e. that only the GO drive wil fit in that slot.

Get that adapter, and reflash the FW to 2.20 using USB. After that you will be able to log in and see inside the FAT+ by telnet and the problem hopefully will be obvious.

Indexing taking longer could be:

1. the disk is full or

2. the disk file system is corrupted somehow and needs to be fixed. You can do that while the disk is attached to a PC.

"Get that adapter, and reflash the FW.."

I am pretty sure he meant update the firmware using the NEW USB port you have "created" with the adapter.  Did you get that already and it did not work?

[ Edited ]

Downgrading won't be a problem at all.  The goal here is to diagnose why the usb ports don't work, and you can't properly diagnose with ver. 2.23.  The 2.20 version allows users to telnet into the device itself, at which point you can view log files and other things that will help with this diagnosis.  Bodhi is very helpful - please report back when you try this out when you get the adapter, there may be other people who have this issue and your testing could help.

You will be able to updated to 2.23 when this is done.

Thanks prairiedog! indeed that's what I meant. There is a chance to see if the mini USB port still works with the adapter. This problem I think could be fixed by Cold upgrade/downgrade.
