FreeAgent Theater and GoFlexTV

Hi everybody

I have tried to upgrade to the mod firmware but at the "kill" point my goflex tv cuts its feed to the tv and wont turn off or on unless i pull the plug. I have tried loads of times and follow the instructions for the fat+ to the letter.

I have firmware 2.20 and live in UK

any suggestions ?

Things I had to do to get past this same problem...

1.  I was trying to update via wireless connection.  That won't work.  Since you are using telent to access the device it doesn't have to be connected to the TV to perform the update.  AS my computer was not in the same room as the TV I disconnected the GoFlexTV from the TV and hooked up via ethernet cable to my router.

2.  Use the rear USB connector when plugging in the USB drive with the update image.

3.  The GoFlex will drop the network connection at some point for a few minutes to do the update.  After the telnet connection is dropped just try to reconnect every half-minute until connection is re-established.  The logon banner will be your indication that the router has rebooted.

At that point you should be able to reconnect to the TV.  If you were already using an ethernet cable instead of wifi and used the rear USB connector then there is some other issue that is prevening the update from completing.
