FreeAgent Theater and GoFlexTV

Hi, i bought yesterday a Freeagent Theater+ with a Freeagent GO 500 gb hard disk.

These i bought in Italy, then EMEA area.

FAT+ has the 1.45 firmware for Emea.

It works correctly with internet (youtube streaming and other) and for sharing directory over my notebook (win home premium 7 64bit).

I have the big problem to don't find the FAT+ over network whith the notebook (also with the Freeagent Software).

I installed over notebook also the Seagate manager software to sincronize and backup files....

What can i do?

Is there someone who may help me?

The FAT+ (Freeagent Theater+) doesn't have 2 way file share.  You can share files from the PC/notebook with the FAT+ but you can not share the FAT+ with the PC/notebook.  So you will not find the FaT+ on the network.  There is a workaround though since you are running firmware version 1.45, see HERE.

It isn't what i expected.... Better, for some things

Now i can also use utorrent downloader directly by the fat+

I have to try now to sincronize directory and planning a backup... But, at this point, i think that the bigger is well done

Glad I could help.  Just one more thing though, remember to turn off the auto update on the FAT+.  The next version of the firmware for you will be locked out, & you won't be able to revert back to earlier versions.  So, if you want to be able to use the mod firmware, turn the auto update off.

May i ask you another advice?

My fat with the mod firmware 1:45 playdude EMEA turns off after a while even if it downloads a torrent and copyies many files from my notebook.
The FreeAgent Go 500GB I am using is already set so that it never starts off hard drive to save energy.
Is there a solution?

No, this is something that can't be changed. I believe that it will turn off in about 30 min. or so when it is sitting in idel.  Probably the only thing that you can do, is every so often wake the FAT+ from idel so that it won't shut off.  Or, another thing that you can try, is to do something like make it run a slideshow with your pictures, as long as the FAT+ is doing something it shouldn't  shut down.

I supposed it; so i'm working by my iPhone with a Teamwiever client to:

1. refresh the FAT+ with webcontrol by passing from Menu Home to Setup and after some minutes by Setup to Menu Home ......

2. monitor the download and the copy 

But is expensive.... I'm at work then, while a telephone call, i couldn't refresh the FAT+.....

This is the way, however....

Enjoy uninterrupted torrent/backup/transfer without no standby and maximum RAM. When you want to use it as a player again, restart it. Cheers .

Sorry for capturing this thread, but i think my problem is related. I have set up the FAT+ with a mapped drive to

my pc, but the sda1 is showing only 20Mb, it should have 650...can someone help?
