I first installed Windows 8 Community Preview (64bit) on release day a few weeks ago. My 3tb Seagate expansion drive worked fine for about a week.
It then came up with a win8 message in the top roght hand corner telling me that the drive was faulty and needed to be scanned.
So I scanned it - No result, but the drive was no longer accessible - Tried everythingthat I, my collegues, external techs cld offer - No dice...
I took it to the local PC store and asked them if they'd heard/seen anything remotely similar - The guru there plugged it into a win XP pc and after a while (?) cld see all of my files (approx 2.5tb - Vid, Aud & stuff) - he cldnt get it to be visible under Win7 64bit however.
So I sucked it up - I went and bought ANOTHER Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 3.0drive and got my guys at work to plug them both into a Winxp pc and copy the files accross - Simple file copy - not mirror etc - took 2 days...
Went home and plugged into my laptop (Dell l702x) and it immediatly came up with the drive error message in the top right hand corner - I can not access any of the files - nor can I access them on any of the win7 pc's at home, or the Netgear NAS as an external USB drv.
What do I do ?
thanks in advance - Geoff Craig

I'm not an expert, but I bought a 3 TB GoFlex Desk for a good price, now I'm checking reviews or problems before opening the box. On this forum and the Norton Ghost (imaging) forum, 3 TB USB 3 drives do not work with Windows 7 32/64 Backup or Ghost v. 15

I know - But the frist drive had been working for Months on Windows 7 64bit (since the 3TB drives were released..) and was working perfectly until, well until it stopped...
Not to mention that the second drive, with only files copied onto it, never connected to the PC and showed files, went straight to Error.
