Hi, I'm new to the forum and happy to be here.
I have a Go Flex Desk (STAC2000103). It is connected to a XP SP3 machine. The Seagate Dashboard software is installed an operates normally. According to Device Manager, no USB ports are powered when the computer is off.
The Go Flex spins from the time I add power till I remove power. Seems that there no other way to shut it down. This is true, with or without the USB cable being connected an is not affected by the computer being powered off.
Note: The drive is a USB 3.0 drive running with USB 2.0. (Does that makfe a difference??) When I power the computer down the leds do go out.
My question:
Does anyone else have the problem or is this a normal condition. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

I have a goflex desk too 1TB STAC1000301, i have read the recommendation and have done the sleep setting and it works . it powers down at the time that i set but once i safely remove the drive from the computer or shut down the computer the light indicator comes off but the drive starts running and it doesn't stop unless i pull the plug which is a HUGE inconvenience.
thinking of returning it already.
