I bought and installed a 1.5 TB Goflex in November as a backup drive. (Win 7, new desktop computer)
It functioned until last week, when I powered down my home computer system while I was out of town. When I powered up again, the Goflex started making clicking sounds and fails to be recognized by the system. I assume it's dead. If anyone can suggest otherwise, great.
But I assume that I'll need to get a refund. I'm concerned about security of data on the drive, once it leaves my hands. I never enabled security, never expecting it would leave my hands. Does anyone have any thoughts on that?

I have a very similar issue as well.
Seagate GoFlex Desk for Mac

Bought in December
Worked great 5 days ago
Is not recognized by my MacBook Pro (Lion) by either USB or Firewire cables
Clicking sound is louder
Any help would be great!

Hello,
Was this drive recently purchased, or are you wanting to try and process a warranty replacement? If the drive was purchased last year, you probably would not be able to get a refund, but if the drive is warranty replaced by Seagate, all drives are completely erased when received.
Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

My 2 month old 3TB GoFlex Home is making a 'click like noise', the HDD i know isnt clicking like a failed HDD would. The HDD is never hot, my devices see it on the network (i mean can connect to). any thoughts?
