The motherboard chipset is an Intel 865GV.
There is no updated driver available from HP or from Intel.
I'll try that uninstall and reinstall procedure.

I reformatted my Goflex before installing, and then realized I don't have a registration code for the downloaded software. None of the listed steps work!

Were you prompted for a registration code when you tried setting up the Instant Backup? Be sure to choose Instant Backup when the installation options are presented.

I bought a FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 2 TB several months ago. It was supposed to be bundled with Memeo Instant Backup. After a month it expired. There are 67 replies to the original post on how to address the trial error message. I finally found some time to deal with this problem. In installed the GoFlex Desk on my router as a network drive. I successfully configured two laptops running Win7 and a desktop running WinXP. Everybody was happily backing up files until the expiration.
Can the admin summarize the solution that was succesful?

I'm pretty sure that the bundled free Memeo Instant backup only lets you backupto a local drive.
If you are backing up to a network drive then you mst be using Memeo Premium Backup which isn't free and is just a trial version. In that case the solution is to buy it or use other backup software.
