I don't know if I'm on the correct forum and I apologize if I'm not but couldn't find the exact topic I was looking for. I have a Free Agent GoFlex Ultra Portable Drive which I have connected to my USB port on my NetGear router. I installed the Memeo software thinking that it would back up my files and I could access them from any of my computers. The back up files are such that the file extension was changed by Memeo and when I try to access the files from my laptop, the format is not one that is recognized. I don't want to restore these files, I just want to back them up to a network external drive. I used to use EZBackitUp software and it did a wonderful job but when I tried to use it with Windows 7, there was a compatibility problem. I got that problem solved but then the software was not capable of accessing a network drive. Does anybody have any suggestions for a software that will back up my files on schedule and will leave them in the format that they originally came in. I sure would appreciate some help on this if anyone has any suggestions.

I use Cobian Backup with Win 7 and a Goflex Home network drive.
It is powerful, backs up files in the original format, is completely free (although you can donate if you want to). It is well documented with help and tutorials and there is even a forum where you can raise issues directly with the developer.

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I will download it and give it a try. I agree that I also need an offsite backup for my pictures, documents, etc. I plan to sign up with Carbonite soon unless you know of anything bad about it. Again, thanks for the help and I will give Cobian a try.
