I have two new GoFlex 2-terabyte drives in my home. Both of them appear to be making a camera click sound, or causing one to come, from the PC speaker. One is on a laptop, the other on a tower. This sound happens at random times, not when mouse-clicking or hovering.
Now I know the rest of the story. The clicking sound we are hearing from our two FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 2-terabyte drives is nothing less than the potential for failure.
What a sad state when Seagate and Walmart both sell merchandise this poor, and it takes so much effort to replace them. If anyone has gone through the replacement process, I would appreciate knowing if the next drive was trustworthy.
