Hi.
I'm having some problems with my external hard drive not showing up on my pc. (serial number [Edited: Removed personal information per the community rules and regulations.] according to the drive detect tool I downloaded to find it out)
I have been using it for a while and it's been fine but all of a sudden it's not on my pc anymore.
When I plug it into my pc it makes all the usual noises and the light dims and brightens like it always have. When I go into Device Manager it says that this device is working properly.
If I start my pc when my hard drive is plugged in, my pc won't load fully until I unplug the hard drive. If I plug it in when my pc is on everything stops responding (programs and my internet browser)
It doesn't even show up on the seagate manager.
I have tried it on my son's pc too but nothing. I really don't know why it suddenly stopped working. I have pictures on it that I would like to try and save.
Is this possible or have I lost everything?
I really hope some one can help.
Thanks.

Take a look at this knowledge base article to see if that fixes the issue of your system not booting while the drive is connected:
http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/19
How is the drive listed in Disk Management?
- Right-click COMPUTER > select MANAGE > open STORAGE > open DISK MANAGEMENT
Is the drive listed with NTFS or RAW, or is it not listed here at all?

It's really annoying because when I look in disk management, my hard drive won't show up, but when I remove it from the usb port it flashes up but then disappears.
Happens every time, when I connect it, nothing when I remove it, it flashes up so I can't really tell wheat it says, it's not on my screen for long enough.
