FreeAgent GoFlex partition

Hi! I have 1 TBFreeAgent GoFlex External drive.I have used it for 3 months and it has my 400gb of important data.I want to make partitions in this drive but my data will be lost.I just wanted to ask how can i back up this data in this drive and make partitions and again Transfer back up files to the created partitions? Thanks

You could move the data temporarily either to your internal drive or another external media device, such as a flash drive, another external drive or even CDs. It depends on which of these you would prefer to use. Then once you are finished preparing the GoFlex drive you can move all data back to it.
