I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I didn't see it under the commonly asked questions list. I have a 320G FreeAgent Go drive, and I've been using it without any problems for about 2 years. However, now when I plug it into my computer, the drive lights up and begins whirring as usual, and the Seagate icon on my toolbar registers that the drive is connected, although it gives me a red light, and the drive never appears in My Computer, and as far as I can tell cannot be accessed. I can't even access it through Control Panel. Is there any way to get the drive working again, or, failing that, to at least get the data off of it?

I would try the drive on another computer, just to see if you can access the data. If the drive is not detected on any computer, then you may have to seek professional data recovery services. Here is a number to Seagate Data Recovery Services 800-475-0143. Here is also a contact link for them.
