Well by the heading you can probably see what is happening.
So the HDD was plugged in one day and boom it says device not recognized and that USB error message.
So here are some of the things I have done:
So I downloaded that NTFS partition thingy you gusy have on the site and I just googled my way around most of the time.
Pretty much what I am looking for are any ideas on what should be done and also help on loading that NTFS thing.
I dont see the HDD anywhere as a device so I can pull it on there.
The driver spins properly when plugged in. Not anything I can hear that could be wrong.
I am hoping this can be solved by software or firmware.
So I hope you guys have some ideas here
Thanx in advance

While it might not be the case, should also consider the possibility that the device has actually failed, like developed a fault in the circuit. Should check to see what happens if you try to plug into a different computer as well.

Can you try it on a Windows XP PC just to see what happens?

I'm having the same issues. I have the 1.5tb portable goflex. It was working fine and yesterday my laptop would not recognize the goflex. I have tried it on three laptops, one with vista, one with Windows 7, and one with Windows XP. They all worked before.
Any solution would be great.

... so what about the simpler problem of Win 7 recognizing the GoFlex, but Seagate's own Seagate Manager not recognizing a 1TB GoFlex with an eSATA upgrade cable:
We're getting no help with that one!

Please try our external drive troubleshooter - http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/troublesh
If the troubleshooter doesn't resolve your problem, could you please post the report from Microsoft's UVCView utility?

I have the same problem with my FreeAgent GoFlex 1TB (usb 3.0). I have been using it for the past 5 or 6 months with my windows 7 64bit computer. It always pauses when I try to browse its contents (thats not the problem, read on..). It stopped working today, randomly. I used it earlier today at school, I got home and copied a few .wav files to it and ALL OF A SUDDEN, windows tells me that it will not work properly unless I format it. I HAVE IMPORTANT WORK ON IT!!! I've tried unplugging and plugging back in numerous times and one time it worked for 5 minutes but now it will not work at all! I've also uninstalled it through the device manager and unplugged, I've basically have done every windows troubleshooter and still not working. I HAVE read your troubleshooter- it's crud. Windows recognizes it as an "unknown device" and the device status reads "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". So windows knows something is there... Also, I downloaded the USB device viewer that you attached and this is what I get for the goflex:
Current Config Value: 0x00 -> Device Bus Speed: Low
Device Address: 0x00
Open Pipes: 0
*!*ERROR: No open pipes!
*!*ERROR: bLength of 0 incorrect, should be 18
*!*ERROR: Device enumeration failure
Please respond as soon as possible. I need to get my work off of it and buy a new non-seagate hdd now!

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having with the drive. I saw that you have already taken a look at the external drive troubleshooter link. At this point, you will want to try the drive on another computer to see if you can access the data. If you can, I would recommend backing the data up if it is not already on your computer. If the drive is not detected or accessible on any computer, then that would unfortunately confirm a drive failure. If the drive is failed, you can check the warranty of the drive on this link. Data is not covered under warranty, but should you need data recovery options, I will provide a link to our Data Recovery Department.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
