GoFlex 3TB on Win XP 32-bit

I recently bought my second 3TB GoFlex external drive, and want to use it as one big storage drive.

I am running different projects, so every drive has it's own project on it and I am nearly nowhere to have tried filling the drive completely.

Yesterday a work colleague told me, that XP 32-bit can't handle a 3TB drive, and he once had one, and it shut down after about 2,2TB, not being accecible anymore.

The drive checks out fine, with it's fully 3TB (or better put, 2,72TB, in my system.

So my question is, will it run just fine, being equiped with a chipset that interprets the drive for XP, or is it going to crash, unless I divide it into partitions before I reach 2,2TB?

I already searched the net for answers, but all I could find were either information concerning internal drives or Win7, both which are not part of my problem.
