I tried to get my GoFlex recognized through my Pogoplug device, but it keeps returning "unsupported format". My entire network is Mac, so I format everything as Mac Journaled Extended. Turns out that drives formatted this way will not work with Pogoplug. Only supported file system formats: NTFS, FAT-32, HFS+, EXT-2. EXT3 will work.
Using Disk Utility, normally I can format other drives in FAT32 no problem. Usually flash drives that I need to gather info among Windows users. But, in Disk Utility, the only non-Mac format available for the GoFlex Desk is FatEx. The drive formats, but still won't work with Pogoplug. (Terrible investment BTW). How, in OS X.7.4, do I format a drive in a favorable format?
