My new Goflex Desk 2T is showing up as a copy protected device and is not letting me write to it. And it is not even showing up on my Quick Silver with appropriate OSX.
How do I get it to respond. I am in the middle of a video project and I need to be able to write to my external drive, obviously.

Sorry to hear about your drive problems.
What's the exact error message you get?
I'd also recommend taking a look at this knowledge base article to see if the drive will be accessible at that point:
